Expresso Bongo Cliff Richard Cinema Poster 1959

A rolled UK 1-Sheet cinema poster (27"x 40") for this early Cliff Richard film dating from 1959. Teen star Cliff found himself in this well regarded drama about a young musical hopeful who is manipulated & exploited by his unscrupulous manager (Laurence Harvey). The film boasted a talented cast (including Sylvia Syms) & crew with Val Guest of Hammer fame directing & Wolf Mankowitz ("Dr No" & "Casino Royale") providing the script. Two BAFTA nominations were received. The film was set in & around Soho & the poster reflects the bohemian nature of this environment. The header script plays on the famous 1957 quote from Macmillan, saying the British "never had it so good".

The poster has one faint horizontal fold, very slight "foxing" to lower portion but overall remains in very good condition.
