Graham Bond Windsor Ricky Tick Poster 1966

A Windsor Ricky-Tick concert poster (20"x 30") promoting gigs in August 1966 including Ricky-Tick mainstays like Graham Bond & Geno Washington (Peter Green was to join The Gass after leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1970).

This is a typical Ricky-Tick poster being white on black, presenting the characteristic primitive Ricky-Tick graphics & the "trademark" African-American face. The Ricky-Tick club was based in Windsor but their circuit of promotions stretched into the London suburbs (Hounslow) & across the home-counties, from Aylesbury to Newbury & Southampton. Most unusually the Ricky-Tick produced their own silk-screen posters in-house, eventually also supplying other promotions too. Not only did the Ricky-Tick provide a home to the likes of the Stones, Yardbirds, Animals etc to nuture their talent but they frequentl promoted American Bluesmen who inspired the British Beat boom too (hence the poster imagery).

For those interested I can recommend the super book about the Ricky-Tick "As You Were" (2019) only available via the Windsor & Eton Brewery!

The poster has minor rim damage & a single horizontal foldline. Overall in very good condition.
