Mott Hoople Edinburgh Gig Poster 1972

Mott The Hoople gig poster (20"x 30") for the Empire Theatre, Edinburgh, 11th April 1972, this show being from their Rock & Roll Circus tour.

This tour came at a pivotal time for the band. Lack of commercial success resulted in Mott The Hoople leaving Island Records & this tour was destined to be their last. David Bowie, however, was a fan & he bequeathed his song "All The Young Dudes" to the band. Mott then signed to CBS, released this track & it delivered a hit (#3 in the UK) effectively re-booting their career. This poster is believed to have come from late Mott band member Pete Overend Watts.

There is some corner damage, a 2" conservation tape repair to tear bottom edge & other general wear but this is a great piece of British rock history.
